Membership Policy

We are a tax exempt nonprofit organization incorporated under Act 162 of 1982 of the State of Michigan. Each person that is accepted into Equal Opportunity For All Americans (EOFAA) shall be committed to the purpose of the organization and not for personal gain.

Please read this policy to understand the components of each type of membership. Each membership is subject to and governed by the Bylaws of Equal Opportunity For All Americans. In the event of a direct conflict between the provisions of this Membership Policy and the Bylaws of Equal Opportunity For All Americans, it shall then be the the Bylaws of Equal Opportunity For All Americans which shall be controlling. Every applicant will receive a copy of the Bylaws upon establishing membership.

MEMBERSHIP TERMS

The Supportive Membership may be purchased annually, biannually and triennially. Continued membership is continued upon payment of dues before the expiration of the present membership.

The Community Membership may be purchased annually, biannually and triennially. Continued membership is continued upon payment of dues before the expiration of the present membership.

The Voting Membership may be purchased annually, biannually and triennially. Officers may continue membership during term of office and upon payment of dues. Non-officers may continue membership for thee consecutive terms of three-years and upon payment of dues.

The Board Membership shall have an initial one-year term from the date voted on the board to the date of the immediate upcoming annual meeting. Afterwards, the member may serve two consecutive terms of three-years.

Memberships are not transferable. Memberships shall not be paused.

MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

Upon joining one of our four memberships, an individual must create an account on a trusted third party software. This software will allow members to view their status, update payment information, receive information from EOFAA and more.

FREE T-Shirt Offer for First time Members

EOFAA will offer a FREE T-Shirt to first timers that join our membership under the following conditions:

  • Must join the Supportive, Community or Voting Membership for the first-time;
  • Select the option to receive a FREE T-Shirt on the Application;
  • Select a size for your FREE T-Shirt offer;
  • Leave a Deliverable Address on your membership profile;
  • EOFAA will ship a membership T-Shirt free of charge.

The FREE T-Shirt Offer is not available for returning members, continued memberships and transitioning memberships.

*Additional EOFAA Branded Clothing Products such as Hats, Hoodies and other T-Shirts that supports EOFAA’s mission can be viewed and purchased online at store.eofaa.org.

Supportive Membership

  • Shall receive updates on our mission work;
  • May receive a digital membership card;
  • May attend Meetings of the Members;
  • Shall receive a quarterly newsletter;
  • Shall receive an annual report;
  • May Receive a T-Shirt

Supportive members cannot vote at a Meeting of Members. Supportive members cannot submit a proposal of an amendment.

Community Membership

  • May work as a staff member;
  • Shall be placed in a pool to fill a staff position;
  • May be promoted to the Nominating Committee;
  • May be promoted to an Officer;
  • Shall attend Meetings of the Members;
  • May cast votes at a Meetings of the Members;
  • May submit a proposal of an amendment to the Bylaws;
  • Shall receive updates on our mission work;
  • May receive a digital membership card;
  • Shall receive a quarterly newsletter;
  • Shall receive an annual report;
  • May Receive a T-Shirt.

Community members may be promoted to the Nominating Committee by the president of EOFAA after a minimum of one year of membership.

Voting Membership

  • Shall attend Annual Meetings;
  • Shall attend Status Update Meetings;
  • Shall attend Special Meetings;
  • Shall attend Meetings of the Members;
  • May work as a staff member;
  • May be promoted to an Officer;
  • May submit a proposal of an amendment to the Bylaws;
  • Shall vote on any proposal or actions that calls for a vote;
  • Shall receive updates on our mission work;
  • May receive a digital membership card;
  • Shall receive a quarterly newsletter;
  • Shall receive an annual report;
  • May Receive a T-Shirt.

Only the Officers in the Voting Membership can call a Special Meeting.

Board Membership

  • Shall attend the Annual Meeting;
  • Shall attend Status Update Meetings;
  • Shall attend Special Meetings;
  • Shall vote on amendments to Bylaws;
  • Shall vote on nominated officers;
  • Shall examine the annual report;
  • Shall seek improving the budget plan;
  • Shall help promote the mission;
  • May receive a digital membership card;
  • Shall ensure fundraising compliance;
  • Shall ensure that the organization complies with the applicable federal, state, and local laws.

EOFAA will provide Board Members with D&O Insurance. A majority of Board Members may call a special meeting.

APPLICATION FEE

There is NOT an application processing fee.

MEMBERSHIP DUES

The Membership fees are as follows:

Supportive Membership

  • $105 for a 1 year term
  • $180 for a 2 year term
  • $240 for a 3 year term 

Community Membership

  • $130 for a 1 year term
  • $230 for a 2 year term
  • $315 for a 3 year term 

Voting Membership

  • $155 for a 1 year term
  • $280 for a 2 year term
  • $390 for a 3 year term

Board Membership

  • Board members shall not pay dues.

Equal Opportunity For All Americans reserves the right to increase or decrease the price of these plans at any time without prior notice. If at anytime a price increase occurs, existing members will not be effected until their membership is renewed. 

REFUNDS

Carefully review the memberships before applying. Memberships are not redeemable. Members cannot receive a prorated refund for the fraction of unused time remaining on a Membership if the membership is cancelled.

EMAIL OPT-IN

Once an application has been submitted for membership, the user will automatically receive email from EOFAA through a third-party software. Emails may be invoices, account reminders, newsletters, updates and EOFAA reports.

CANCELLATION OF PLAN

A membership can be cancelled at any time.

A member can cancel the membership manually through their account or the member can request for Equal Opportunity For All Americans to cancel the membership by emailing EOFAA through the Contact Page at least 3 business days prior to the date of cancellation. The email should contain the user contact information, date of cancellation and the words ‘CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP.
